I was wondering how to keep the age of a site when purchasing an aged domain. I'm guessing expired domains lose their age... but what categories of sites listed on GoDaddy, for example, will allow me to purchase & register while keeping the age of the domain?

Also, would I be able to quickly build links if I register and expired domain that already has backlinks? Thanks!

Generally, you can change the hosting and content of a site, as well as the owner.... and the Age doesn't get affected.

However, if you change the registrar (aka, from NameCheap to GoDaddy) then the age usually gets reset.

You're gonna have to treat it almost as a new domain, you can go faster than a brand new one, but not as fast as an aged one.

Start slowly for a couple of weeks, then you can ramp up a bit.

Don't give G a sudden shock.

Phil...
I have always thought (perhaps wrongly) that if you buy an expired domain name that is still indexed by google...then the age still counts???

Conversely - if you buy an aged domain that has not been indexed by google...(site:domainname = nothing)  then I assumed that google will see that as a new domain.

Logical?   or wrong?
