I just signed up for IMA.. Lots of information here, overwhelming a bit.. I want to get to it "all" or perhaps, "most" of it over time, but for now, this is what I'm trying to do and was hoping to get some pointers on where in IMA to go to assist with this. Assuming of course there is a strategy/tool here to address this.

Let's say (for example) that I provide a service nationwide, let's call it a plumbing service. I have a fully functional "Pluming" site that runs by business. I've (over time) procured some expiring domains / dropped names related to plumbing. I want to create content on these domains for the sole purpose of driving traffic to my site.

So let's say my website is joesplumbing(dot)com and I grabbed, massachusettsplumber(dot)com, newhampshireplumber((dot)com etc..

right now, the state websites are just parked, I haven't created any content. I'm struggling with the best strategy/approach to use these sites to my advantage to get more traffic (and Search Engine Ranking) for joesplumbing(dot)com

Any thoughts on any areas within IMA that will point me in the right direction here or am I way off base?

Thanks in advance for your time and patience with me!

Steve

Hi Steve

With IMA changes are you going to make the tools so that we can set them up to be relevant for our posting?

Should I wait for the changes before I continue to use BB LB ?

Is there a problem in having too much relevancy ?

where do you get easy no follow links from?

6400 links to my site, only 70 non targeted, 5 % no follow. Would you start a new domain ?

During the webinar you mention dates when Blog penalty (late feb), panda, penguin hit (april 24). So looking at that my site starting falling down at the beginning of April 4th which one do you believe was the issue? This is what happened I was in this network and at the end of feb I moved to another one of his network. Than the owner sent out an email stating if you were in his network (the previous one i was in) to cancel the subscription. Now I had been out of that network for about 1 month, but I believe it may take Google sometime to relise my links are not on there, so it hit me anyway. what you think? I have spoken to a couple of people who were in his group and we all lost ranks

Keyword Blueprint vs. Keyword Blaze? (evaluation score)

Hey all!

Hey all!

I've been using Keyword Blaze for quite a while and it's proven very, very helpful in doing keyword evaluations and discovering keywords (niche storm!) in different projects, so first of all, I just wanted to say (as I'm sure you've heard many times before), thanks for the awesome software, Steve! :D

Recently, I've wrapped up an affiliate project and would like to move on to an ecommerce project, and I remember the old days when we relied on Keyword Blueprint to do keyword evaluations - the gold star, green check and red stop icons make it easy to identify winners (with REALLY loose link building, I started ranking and getting sales for a dog beds ecommerce site 2 years back...and it wasn't even anywhere near the first page of results!).

Here's the problem I'm facing: near every project I've done, I think that doing keyword research is the most vital process, but I also find it the most difficult. With Keyword Blueprint, it was a matter of checking for a gold star and a green tick, but with Keyword Blaze, is it enough to assume a green evaluation score in the keyword?

As such, I'd like a bit of advice from you seasoned marketers...what factors are the most important when deciding on whether a term is viable or not (in the context of an ecommerce site)?

a. Competing pages vs. Keyword Blaze evaluation score: Would you rather have an evaluation score of 23, but with 600,000 competing pages or a score of 36, with 280,000?

b. Competing pages vs. Traffic tactics: Would you stick to strictly of locating sites with less than 150,000 competing pages or are you confident enough with the traffic strategies that are taught in this community to go for the more competitive keywords? Link wheels, web 2.0, blogs, forums, prs, content galleries, blog blueprint, article blueprint, etc.)?

c. Volume vs. Keyword Blaze evaluation score: Would you rather have a high monthly traffic volume, let's say 246,000 and an evaluation score of 42, or a low monthly traffic volume, e.g. 18,100, and an evaluation score of 36)?

d. Commercial intent phrases vs. none: Would you have words that have commercial intent phrases (for sale, buy, get, on sale, etc.) or without (even if the former has a helluva lot more competing pages)?

(Btw, all the above figures are pulled from some keyword evaluations I ran just now...I didn't make 'em up!)

All thoughts and advice greatly appreciated...lemme know what you think!!

Cheers,
Baggio.

I've heard 90 days, but I guess that can't ever be said anything with Google.

I've notice some more strange jumping with my site recently and I want to pull analytics and webmaster tools off, but they have me freaked that if they see me pull it off they'll assume more "guilty" type behavior and knock me again for whatever reason.

I think this has been brought up before:

I think this has been brought up before:
As frequently as 50% of the time that I type in a seed keyword in the launch pad, that exact keyword does NOT show up in the results.

If it were happening only to obscure & obtuse key phrases I could understand it, but it's happening regularly with very straightforward, well-searched keywords. Here's just a few examples:

back pain treatment - 168 KWs returned, but back pain treatment isn't one of them. Closest is "back pain treatment NYC," useless because it only gets 36 searches, but back pain treatment gets 2900 searches

arthritis in hands - 505 KWs returned, but not arthritis in hands, even though it gets a nice 3600 monthly searches. Arthritis in ankle is there - 210 searches. Arthritis in elbow is there - only 140 searches. But not in "hands," an obviously more common key phrase at 3600 searches

lower back pain relief - 306 KWs returned, but not lower back pain relief. C'mon, lower back pain relief!! That's gotta be one of the most commonly used back-pain terms ever. Gets 10,000 searches! And here's what's really funny. Even though lower back pain relief doesn't show up, lower back pain releif ("releif" mis-spelled) DOES show up, with a paltry 36 searches.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong in my use of KB, or in my settings. If so, please advise.

But if this is an actual glitch in KB, it's a major one. It makes KB a great tool for finding extra KWs within a niche, but a lousy one for finding the info you need about a specific keyword. If I can't find a KW like lower back pain relief on Google Tool, see that it has 10,000 searches, and then plug that exact KW into KB to get all the SEO info, it renders much of KB useless.

Hi guys,

I'm looking at starting a new store and just wondered what you would choose from the following as the domain (given the current SEO landscape).

Option 1: relevantcatchydomain.com

2 yrs old, no backlinks but it's indexed, no keywords in domain but it is relevant, it's quite catchy

Option 2: keywordincluded.com

brand new domain, not an exact match but with the keyword included

What would your opinions be out of the two?

Do you think the keyword would carry a nice bit of weight?

Thanks,

I heard you are moving away from spun content. Why and how will you be able to do that with "duplicate content" being the challenge people face with garnering back links?

A little bit of a loaded question, but I'm hearing many people are just ditching spun article efforts and just writing good solid articles with link/anchor text variations and lets those articles drip to web 2.0, social sites, PR, and article directories.

It should make some sense because with a public release, the content is original and non spun, but yet gets a lot of link juice passed to the main site. Why would this work for social, web 2.0 and article directories? I think it does. In addition, I have some folks who are getting great success from good unspun content. What do you think?
